Christmas Eve 1961 put five young people at City Hall Square in Copenhagen and began a hunger strike. They were not subjected to any injustice, and their demonstration was not aimed at a specific decision. They protested against the Danish gluttony and demanded solidarity with the starving masses of the Third World.
The protesters belonged to a small, newly formed organization called the Group of 61 and it was the second time they made their presence felt.
